CheckHers Elite prides itself on our coaching staff. Our head coaches are all former players and many have coached at several different levels, from collegiate to rec. They focus on continued player development, creating a positive and inclusive culture and fostering a passion for the game.
Tracey Rohrback
PRESIDENT & 2027 HEAD COACH
Tracey is a co-founder of Check-Hers Elite and current president of the Check-Hers Elite Board of Directors. Tracey’s passion for lacrosse began as a player for Mt. de Sales High School and Catonsville Community College. She now uses this experience to enhance her role as a coach and mentor to girls lacrosse players in the Carroll, Baltimore, and Howard County area.
Tracey began coaching for the Gamber lacrosse program where she served as a head coach for nine years, consistently compiling winning records and leading her team into the MYLA finals in 2002, 2003, 2004-2005. Her commitment to the lacrosse community continued to grow as she served as Girls League Coordinator for Gamber for 4 years. Her interest in understanding every aspect of the game led Tracey to become a certified USA Lacrosse official. She currently officiates through the high school level in Carroll and Howard counties.
Jess Onheiser
2028 HEAD COACH
Jess Onheiser graduated from Vanderbilt University, where she was a two-time All-American Lacrosse Conference member, a two-time IWLCA All-South Region First Team honoree, a two-time Academic All-American, and three-time member of the Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. From 2004 to 2008, Jess was a member of the United States National Developmental and Elite team. She was inducted into the Vanderbilt Hall of Fame in 2013 and the Greater Baltimore Hall of Fame in 2017. She is also the founderowner of Recruit-Her LLC, offering services to improve individual and team skills through personal training sessions and recruiting consulting in order to educate players and parents about the multifaceted recruiting process.
Jess joined Check-Hers in 2013 and is on the Board of Directors. Her previous coaching experience includes; Varsity Head Coach at Garrison Forest School, and Division I lacrosse at the Ohio University and Loyola University Maryland.
Amy Featherstone
2029 HEAD COACH
Amy graduated from James Madison University in 2014. During her college career she received All-Conference (CAA) first team, two time Conference All-Tournament team, three time CAA player of the week, participant in the IWLCA North-South All star game (South), and a JMU Athletic Director Scholar Athlete. Amy graduated from Liberty High School and played soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. She received All-County awards in each sport.
Amy has been coaching for Check-Hers since 2013. Her 2022 alumnae play at all NCAA levels and include a 3x USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, an IWLCA All-Region honoree, and several team captains.
SOPHIE FISCHER
2030 HEAD COACH
Sophie Fischer is a home grown Carroll County lacrosse talent who came up through the local rec system (WAX) and has been with Check-Hers Elite since 2015 as a player under Coach Patty Daley on the 2020 Black team. Sophie was a 3 year varsity player at Westminster High School, and after graduating from the Check-Hers program, she joined the 2023’s as an assistant coach before heading to Butler University to play Division 1 lacrosse where she earned Big East All-Academic Team accolades three times.
Throughout her coaching career at Check-Hers, she also assisted the 2025 and 2028 Black teams during Summer their tournament seasons. While in Indianapolis at Butler, Sophie head coached the True IN 2030 Black team, and the Zionsville U14 Girls’ lacrosse team. Her coaching philosophy is one of positive reinforcement, and she strives to balance having fun learning the game while also being serious enough to get 1% better every day.
Kristin Oropollo
2031 HEAD COACH
Kristin has had an immense impact on girls lacrosse through coaching and player development over her career. Currently, she acts as the Assistant Girls’ Coordinator for the Westminster Area Lacrosse program which involves talent evaluation, development, and board member responsibilities focused on building the girls' program in Carroll County.
Her coaching experience began in college where she spent her summers as an assistant for Central Maryland Club in Westminster. Following graduation, she became the varsity head coach at Liberty High School, her alma mater. From 2008-2011 she led them to a 27-0-10 record including a county title and appearances in state regionals. Along with coaching locally, Kristin continued her club coaching experience leading the 2011 and 2016 M&D Lacrosse Club teams. Aside from her lacrosse experience, she has taught in Carroll County Public Schools for 15 years.
Kristin attended and played lacrosse at Shippensburg University, graduating in 2008. She earned multiple lacrosse accolades including 2nd team all PSAC, voted team’s Most Valuable Player, and currently holds the record for most goals in a season (2007).
Lacey Headley
2032 HEAD COACH
Lacey (Hentz) Headley has over 25 years of lacrosse experience as a player (Division I) and coach at the rec. and club level. Lacey was a 4 year starter for Johns Hopkins under legendary Coach Janine Tucker (2005). She earned First Team All-Conference honors all four seasons and was an IWLCA All-American. She is a member of the Johns Hopkins University Athletic Hall of Fame as well as the Greater Baltimore Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
After college Lacey head coached the CheckHers 2012 squad from 6th grade to graduation. 10 of those players committed to play Division I lacrosse, another six members played Division II and III.
Lacey was a standout dual-sport athlete at North Carroll High School playing varsity soccer and lacrosse for four years, earning All-County First Team honors each year. Lacey has also served as a head coach for Westminster Area Lacrosse and assistant coach in the Gamber Lacrosse program. She received her master’s degree from Johns Hopkins and has worked for over a decade as a High School Counselor.
Lacey’s coaching style can be described as fun, fast-paced, intense and forward thinking beyond the field. She believes in an athlete-centered coaching philosophy and understands lacrosse is an opportunity for players to develop in skill, confidence, and character through team building, adversity and sportsmanship.
